About The Wine
Le Sol is the flagship Syrah from NZ juggernaut, Craggy Range.
This is the Rolls Royce of NZ Syrah. A powerful wine with awesome intensity, but with all the class and polish you would expect from this iconic estate.
The 2015 is a more refined than some previous iterations of this wine as winemaker Matt Stafford continues to refine picking dates and the oak regime. It's a flawless release. Good for at least a decade in the cellar.
From The Producer
Le Sol (french: the soil) is born of the renowned Gimblett Gravels viticultural appellation with its gravelly soils attracting the sun in summer and insulating the vines in winter.
The vines are planted in the stoniest parts of the vineyard to a heritage clone of Syrah brought to New Zealand in the 1840s.
